Description

Thirty minutes later black vans had arrived on the scene. And from these cars plenty of armored personnel arrived on the scene and immediately began blocking people off. Preventing entry.

These millitary personnel immediatly began setting up defensive positions around the house as per the instruction of the two agents that had already been here. Being told about the situation as they had observed it firsthand.

While getting everything set up people were ordered to leave their houses under the fake story that a quarantine had been issued and needed to be contained.

Most people agreed...never questioning why it was armored personnel that was telling them this or why a primeter was being established around this one speicifc house. Everyone was for the most compliant.

Once the area had been evacuated and only the corporation' forces remained in the area they waited for something to happen. Analyzing and observing the activity taking place at that house.

No activity had been detected from the outside in the short hour that they had been there...aside from walls having some trouble holding back this fleshy substance that was growing bigger and bigger inside the house.

The real activity worth studying it seemed was coming from inside the house. They were just wasting their time by waiting for something to happen.

It took some time for the armored squad to arrive but once it did they were given a short briefing on the status of the situation and then immediatly sent inside to investigate the strange occurences inside that house.

-Inside the house-

Gold Leader, copy, how is your status? was heard through the radio on the front soldier's helmet.

You know what our status is, Central...we've just entered the house, over replied Gold Leader as he sighed annoyed.

Don't give me that, Gold Leader, if the reports we've received are true, you need to be on constant guard. We're not dealing with bunnies, here.

Yeah, no shit interjected one of the personnel behind Gold Leader.

The entire walls being covered in some secretion that looked to be made out of flesh. Tiny (but steadily growing) tentacle-roots were along the walls.

Yuck, this shit's nasty she remarked as she frowned at the sight of the stuff.

Nobody touch nothin'. If the briefing told me anything, it's that whatever this stuff is i doubt it takes kindly to anything that isn't itself she heard Gold Leader's voice through the radio.

No need to tell me twice she reched as she shifted her sights away from the flesh-walls. Instead looking back up.

However what she just missed was that an eye opened up on the wall. It silently blinked as it watched them walk past it. None of the other six soldiers noticing it as they continued down the hall.

At the other end of the hall Gold Leader sharply turned right. Quickly aiming his rifle as he looked inside the next room.

But from within the room there was no immediate contact. This room (which must have been a living room) was empty.

The only thing it was not devoid of was more of that fleshy substance that was oozing out of the walls. A good amount of it resembling a fleshy version of an overfilled bag.

Out it's left side there was a long tentacle that stretched along the wall. It must have forced its way down through the floor because it dissapeared down under the floor. The tentacle looked to have started clinging to the wall since parts of it was attached to the wall. Rising up from underneath the windows were tentacles that were growing out of the larger tentacle. All of were attached to the walls. Roots growing out their sides and slowly spreading across the window frames as they sought to cover every last inch of it.

Gold Leader made sure to secure the entire living room beforee doing a gesture with his hand that told his squad to follow him as he walked into the room.

The entire team followed him inside the room...but as the back of his group turned right into the living room they failed to notice a circular row of teeth that was in the shape of a maw with an eye in the center.

This eye like quite a few of the eyes in the room watched them as they made their way deeper into the house.

Upon entering what used to be a living room the squad took a moment to recover. Already making it this far without being attacked was an achievment in it's own right if the briefing was anything to indicate.

Living room secured, proceeding deeper Gold Leader radioed in to his superiors outside.

Affirmative, Gold Leader, has any hostiles been encountered?

Negative, no hostiles have engaged. Repeat, no hostiles have engaged
replied Gold Leader.

Back outside in the mobile command center the one that Gold Leader was talking to had become motionless. Horrified by what he was hearing.

He had turned to the two field agents that had already been here before they arrived and requested instructions on what to do.

(Inaudiable words being spoken)

His terrified expression did not lessen. Instead he only became even more frightened.

From the headset he had taken off he could hear Gold Leader trying to re-establish contact with him again.

Bitting his lip he put the headset back on before responding to the partially nervous Gold Leader who had begun to worry when he did not receive an answer with a Granted. Continue deeper into ''The Hive''.

Roger that, continuing deeper into ''The Hive'' he heard from the other side before it then went silent again.

He still bit his lip as his eyes looked back up towards the screen that he was sitting in front that showed Gold Leader's camera POV. Wondering if he had made the right choice by telling them to go even deeper. From what he himself had been told they should be lucky to still be alive...if what the field agent's report had told him was true.

The only positive thing he could take from this was that this thing they were dealing with was not hell bent on penetrating their containment. It was the main reason they refered to this as ''The Hive'' because it was more intent of limiting it's presence to this house and not spreading across the neighborhood.

-Back inside the house-

After being instructed to go deeper Gold Leader had given his soldiers the order to move out. All of them forming a pair that followed behind him as he took the lead. Each keeping an open eye for any mysterious activity.

Upon entering the kitchen they were meet with a very similar sight as the living room. Many of the kitchen's closests and cupboards now tentacles hanging down from them. Having grown out of the walls the tentacles must have meet little resistance when they overtook this very small space.

The sink's plumping had all but been destroyed. As evidenced by the water that was flowing from the destroyed sink. Right underneath the sink another long tentacle was seen having forced its way out.

Along the walls there was small indicators of webbing that like everything else was made out of flesh. It was not explicetly like the webbing made by spiders but it did have a pattern it was following.

Vasquez, the 1/2 women in this squad stared at the webbing. Looking at all of it as it spread across the walls like back in the hallway...except here it looked more like it started out as faint webbing before morphing into a thicker type of secretion.

Fortunatly the floors were mostly clear of this stuff. Except for the small splotches that was starting at the base of the walls. It was obvious than obvious to them that this stuff wasn't going to stop spreading until it had consumed the entire house.

Gross commented Ferro the other woman in the squad. Gently touching it with the barrel of her modified rifle.

Vazguez snicked at the soldier's verbal declaration of disgust.

What, Ferro...? You think you're gonna get sick? Maybe you should've stayed outside and let the adults handle this job remarked Vasquez.

Oh, i'm already sick, Vasguez, but it's only from looking at your ugly mug all day. This is nothing compared to that Vasquez suddenly heard through the radio.

Immediatly following that some of the squadmembers started to laugh. Chuckling at Vasquez's poor attempt at embarassing her.

While the soldiers behind him laughed...Gold Leader was suddenly distracted when he heard a sound that came from behind the counter. It very much sounded like movement as well as something added on top of that.

Shut up, everyone...I hear something.

Upon hearing Gold Leader's command all of the soldiers ceased laughing. Becoming suddenly serious as they looked towards their superior.

As he did a gesture with his hands and arm two of the soldiers stepped towards the counter where he had heard the sounds coming from. Waiting for his next command while he and Vasquez moved to another side.

They hesitated a few seconds...before then hurrying out around the corner!

Their weapons aimed directly at whatever he had heard moving...but when they what it actually was they didn't open fire.

If anything they just stared at it. Stunned by what they were seeing.

Gold Leader did a ''come here'' gesture with his arm. To which the soldiers obeyed without question and stepped closer. All of them seeing what he and Vasquez had seen.

All becoming just as confused as them.

Wha-what is that? inquired Spunkmeyer.

It looks like an...egg? said Vasquez who had no other ideas of what this thing might be.

An egg? Don't be stupid...there exists nothing that could possibly lay an egg that big said Ferro.

Well, whatever it is, i think we better leave it alone. We don't know if disturbing one thing, in here, desturbs every-

Suddenly though before they could back away from the egg-looking thing and continue out of the kitchen the top started peeling four-ways.

It was opening!

Immediatly the entire squad backed away. All raising their weapons and focusing on the opened top. Expecting something to come out of it now...and indeed it did.

Slowly a pair of bone-thin finger-like limbs grabbed onto the sides and gently pull itself out.

KILL IT! screamed Ferro loudly into the radio. The loud feed-back catching the others off-guard...and causing Vasquez to begin unloading plenty of bullets into the creature!

Instantly the egg was shot up with multiple gun shots. As well as the creature being riddled with bullet wounds.

Once Vasquez stopped firing she and the rest of the squad just stood there frozen.

Immediatly Gold Leader grabbed Furro by the throt. Angry that she had startled them all like that.

What the fuck is your problem, private?! Are you trying to get us all killed?!

N-no, sir, I-I was just-

She tried to form coherent words but stopped mid-way through when she heard something.

Gold Leaderrrr!

It became even worse when one of the other squadmembers was calling out with a frightened tone.

Turning back to see what they were so worked up over Furro and Gold Leader were frozen with fear.

Paralyzed as they laid eyes on the shot-up creature's body was beginning to convulse.

The top of the creature split open down the center and multiple tentacles shot out. All while the ''revived'' creature began screeching in an unnatural way that was unlike anything they'd ever heard a creature make before.

It's legs reaching up and each holding onto a part of the egg that it had come from. All while reeling back in preparation for a jump!

Before it got the chance however Vasquez aimed her rifle at it...but unlike before unleashed a sudden wave of fire upon it!

Both the egg and the mutating creature soon dissapeared into a violent inferno that had begun incinerating them both.

It's body spasming like mad as it attempted to get away from the fire...but finally stopped moving all-together as it succumbed to the flames.

Panting Vasquez stood frozen as she still had her weapon aimed at the small fire she'd started.

The rest of her squadmembers slowly drawing closer to her again.

Furro opened her mouth to speak but was immediatly stunned silent as she caught wind of movement happening behind Vasquez in the other room behind her back.

It was dark so she couldn't entire see all of it...but she could hear something happening in there.

Vasquez, behind you! she shouted through the radio.

Vasquez was momentarily frozen but then quickly turned around as she remembered that she was the one standing closest to the open doorway...staring into a darkened room that she could see was illuminated by her pointing her light inside it.

Standing up from the floor a multi-legged woman-looking creature's head hung down her back as her head had split open to reveal hundreds of sharp teeth.

What the hell is that thing?! shouted Spunkmeyer as he pointed right at it.

The woman-thing roared. Right before it began moving right towards them!

Burn it! shouted Gold Leader. Who had finally recovered from the shock of seeing the first thing come back to life

Vasquez was snapped out of her terrified daze...and just before woman-thing could pounce on her she once more unleashed a wave of heat towards it!

Upon coming contact with it the woman-thing was enraptured in fire.

In it's attempt to move away from the source of the flames by going deeper into the room that it had come from only encouraged Vasquez to follow it inside. Continually unloading more fire onto it.

Her continued push weakening the woman-thing till it collapsed to the floor. It's large limbs moving until they fell silent against the floor along with the rest of the now burning mess.

Come on, we need to help her! instructed Gold Leader to the rest of the squad.

Nearly all ran inside where Vasquez was... All except for Furro.

Furro was so paralyzed with fear at the creature's attack that all she did was run the other way while the others charged in to help Vasquez. Hardly any of her squadmembers noticed that she was gone.

Back inside the room where Vasquez was the first thing she took notice of was that this was the only room that had an intense concentration of flesh covering the walls. The whole room was covered in the stufff...which was only the reason why she had suddenly become so worried.

While the woman-thing's body was lying there smoking on the floor...the walls had immediatly begun to move. Life stirring within them.

The wall' surfaces contorted as shapes began to grow out.

Deformed human torsos emerged from the wall. All either lacking facial features outside of blood-red eyes that were all looking towards Vasquez who was standing at the center of the room.

Their hands had all been replaced with scythe-like appendages. Or had sprawling tentacles that hung down to the floor. Sharp spikes growing out along the sides.

The human-like forms were not the only things to be seen growing out of the walls.

It was also large maws that had spider legs-like appendages that formed around the maws. And a lot of eyes that looked directly at Vasquez.

All of the human-like forms wailed and screeched. As the ones with elongated fingers tried reaching for her.

Even whole tentacles began growing out from the flesh-wall attempting to grab her.

Like she had done with the woman-thing she immediatly began unleashing a wave of heat upon the things emerging from the wall.

Don't worry! We're coming, Vasquez! she heard Gold Leader's voice through the radio.

Being almost startled when the rest of her squadmates emerged from her back. And they too started burning away at the wall-things.

Issuing orders Gold Leader started issuing orders to his squad. Ordering who would take which thing. And then they'd switch to their alternative fire and then unleash it all upon the things in a brutal display.

Before they could seperate from the walls the wall-things were burnt. Neither getting a chance to properly engage the squad of soldiers before they were scorched by intense heat!

Tentacles shot from the opened maw...but due to the squadmembers keeping their distance it failed to grab onto even one of them before it's tentacles were burnt.

They forced the tentacles back into the maw before setting the fire loose upon the maw itself.

Obstructing any sight of it by covering it in flames. All while the thing screeched as it freaked out from the attack against it.

A large lump that hung down from the ceiling was attempting to spawn something from it's own body but when Vasquez and the rest noticed this it was immediatly set aflame.

After everything had been torched with the squad's modified flamethrower rifles the squad then moved back out of the room to avoid being burnt alive while the walls were burning.

Minutes later after everything had been burnt and was now blackened and smoking Gold Leader immediatly started to receive orders from the mobile headquarters that was just outside.

His expression quite drastically shifted from horrific stare to confusion.

Say again, you want us to what...? Continue onwards? the rest of the squad suddenly heard through their radios.

All of them then turned back towards Gold Leader. Giving him pale looks of terror.

They want us to ''what''? said Spunkmeyer.

No way, man. No way in hell am i going any further. If that was just one part of this insane madhouse, then I don't want to see the rest of it said Vasquez.

Yeah, I say we get the hell outta here before shit gets any worse one of the other squadmembers agreed. Several others soon joining in.

You don't understand the reluctance when I say this, but we've gotta do it Gold Leader said. Which immediatly earned him a lot of ''are you fucking serious?!'' stares from his team.

What the hell are you talking about, man? Didn't you just see the shit we went through in there? Vasquez said as she indicated towards the blackened room.

That may be, but I doubt anyone else would've gotten as far as we have. This place is fucked up beyond anything we've ever dealt with before, but if we don't do it then they're just going to send in some other poor mother' fuckers to deal with it if we bail now...and I highly doubt those ''other guys'' will be able to even where we are now Gold Leader explained to his team.

So, what...we just give up our own lives for someone else? said a squadmember.

So what you're telling me, Spunkmeyer, is that you're perfectly comfortable leaving right now with the knowledge that someone else may die, just cause a veteran like you quit? Gold Leader with a serious frown. We're veterans compared to those hired mercenaries outside, which means we're the best of the best, if we can't do it...then who the hell can?

Spunkmeyer opened his mouth to say something but the words just wouldn't come out.

He groaned angrily.

It's not fucking fair! he shouted angrily. While kicking at the scorched remains of the egg.

I know...and you're completly right, it's not fair that we're here in this hell, but wasn't this why we all signed up to become corporate soldiers? To protect the world from things like this?

The rest of the squad tried to look away...but they all knew that what he was saying was true. All of them had wanted to protect people from shit like this.

There was no way out of it. Either they bail now and be labelled as cowards by the next team that is sent in...or they can confront the horrible nightmare behind all of this and finally bring an end to it.

But even if we go through with this, where do we go from here? There is litterally nowhere else to go...aside from up interjected Vasquez. Who slowly looked up towards the ceiling.

Actually, I don't think that's entirely true, Vasquez... they heard one of their squadmembers speak up.

They all turned to face him and saw that he was still standing guard by the door in case some-thing else started happening in there.

It could just be a trick upon the eye, but I can almost swear that I see an opening in the wall...like, a massive crack in the wall that looks like it's going down he said.

Approaching him they all looked inside the smoking room. Parts of the flesh-wall had melted off the windows and beams of light were shining into the room. Illuminating it.

On the right side Vasquez, Gold Leader and the other squadmembers could indeed see a large opening in the wall. It had a faint trace of webbing covering it which indicated that it wasn't meant to be found.

... Or a giant tunnel with flesh-walls...Sure, why not? Vasquez commented.

If i'm a bettin' man, then I'd say that is where we'll find the source of it all Gold Leader said as he clicked his gun...though he knew bullets could only stop these things for so long until you needed to burn the hell out of them.

Well, if we're ready to do this, then let us go. Best to just get it overwith before we have to spend any more time in here Gold Leader instructed as he walked back out into the burnt room.

Shortly the rest of his squad followed suit. All of them forming a tightly packed group as they approached this cracked wall.

Shining their lights inside each soldier inhaled a deep breath before they then took slow steps as they embarked on their horrific venture deeper into this scorched tunnel entrance.

The light from their rifles illuminating the walls as they gently enter the eerily quiet tunnel.

The entire walls are composed of that fleshy secretion. That unlike regular secretion doesn't look to solidify and instead remains organic.

-

Tried going in a more ''Aliens'' direction with this one. Can at least have some variation to the horror.

Again, the cover was still the only thing closest to the situation that I could find.
